Our Story
Sunshine savers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created in 2020 by two students who grew up on the beach. We created Sunshine savers to try and reverse the negative effects people have on the beaches. Help us achieve our mission to save the beaches by either donating or volunteering!

Our Mission
Our goal with Sunshine Savers is to keep the beauty of the Shore by working alongside beach towns to keep them clean and sustainable. We hope to accomplish environmentally friendly projects like beach clean ups and replenishment projects. During this pandemic we would also like to work towards sanitation on beaches. While creating volunteer opportunities for our peers and cleaning the beaches we will also be promoting change on beaches. We will do this by raising and donating money towards beach clean up funds. Our organization is entirely non-profit and we want to see the coastal ecosystem flourish. With Sunshine Savers, we are trying to make the Jersey Shore an environment that everyone can enjoy. Too often we see people destroying the beach and our organization would like to do something about it.
How do our projects work?
In order to achieve our goals we will work with the beach supervisors to determine the needs of each beach. We will raise funds to purchase any materials that might be needed for each project. We will also provide any necessary volunteers and manage their work on the project. For example, a beach clean up project may require us to provide 10 volunteers and cleaning supplies such as gloves and trash bags. For a seagrass planting project we would also provide all materials necessary. Other projects may include creating and posting sanitation signs, spreading beach maintenance awareness, and fundraising for the beaches.
